Businesses use WorkJam Tasks to delegate work to employees. For companies like Woolworths and Ulta Beauty, who employ upwards of 200,000 employees, small changes to the task flow can make a marked impact on the workforce.

One month after the go-live, Ulta Beauty reported our improvements saved their employees 10,000 minutes across the board.

At the time, it took 7+ interactions just to start a task. Employees found that this got in the way of their actual work.

Working for a B2B enterprise, we had to balance this pain point with our clients’ need for strong task analytics. This was supported by users clicking ‘start’ on a task, ‘start’ on a step, and so on.

We looked at sample reporting data and watched actual users interface with tasks, and we met in the middle.

We removed the ‘Start task’ button,
Grouped ‘Complete step’ and ‘Start step’ into one ‘Save and continue’,
And spaced out the info by making use of the horizontal space.

    Here’s how it looks now.
